Hot Topic: Jessica Read 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens pg. 31-44 as a class. Go over the project found on the class website Under Business I Tab there's a drop down menu, click on 7 Habits Project and Calendar to see the requirements. Groups can be found at the bottom of the project sheet along with the habit and date your project is due. The rest of the period groups should get together, read their habit chapter then begin to tackle how the group will complete the project. Habit 1 will be presented next Monday. Hot Topic-Chloe
Warm Up: Career Video: Accountants http://www.careeroutlook.us/career.php?id=132011&st=CA Review "Why Volunteer" Introduction to the FrankinCovey, Stephen Covey, and Sean Covey Dynasty- highlighting the influence the Covey’s have on the business world. a. Introduce the 7 habits through a ppt. presentation b. Students will go to www.7habits4teens.com. Click on “Teen Stories” Students will pick a region on the map and read a story from a real teen who has used this book to influence his/her own life. – Students will report back to the class what they read and state what they hope to learn from reading this book. Read Ch. 1 as a class and answer questions. Go over Project. See tab under Business I "7 Habits Project and Calendar" Read through the ppt and take notes (see ppt below) Ppt. notes on volunteerism Students will use www.volunteermatch.org to find a volunteer opportunity in our local community. Pick an opportunity that interests you and write a letter of intent to volunteer (see example) This letter needs to be turned into a pdf and emailed to Ms. Aspengren. Note: You may or may not want to actually send this volunteer letter, but you still need to complete it. Be sure to follow professional letter format like the example.
