No Question of the Day Students will present their Career Plans to the class. The class will engage in questions and discussion time for each of the career plans presented. Tuesday- No Question of the Day Today we will have an entrepreneur as a guest speaker. Mr. Arreola will be talking about his business ventures and how he has successfully planned and implemented his ideas to become a successful business owner. Students will choose one of their careers they’ve prepared a job description for to create a career plan Tuesday- Question of the Day- What strategy do you use to keep track of things you need to do? Go over the Career Plan assignment and rubric in further detail. Students will work on their career plan.
Wednesday-
Question of the day - Introduce students to the digital version of the Press Enterprise www.pe.com See teacher for log-in info. Students will read an article in the Business section and reflect on it in their T.P.A.’s. Students will continue to create their career plan Thursday- Question of the Day- Do you think there is a correlation between leadership ability and physical fitness? Finalize career plans. Students will present tomorrow. Monday- Introduce T.P.A.’s through ppt. students will use the rubric to grade themselves for the first one then trade comp. books w/partner to grade 2nd. one. Discuss what can be improved. Introduce students to the Occupational Outlook assignment. Visit http://www.bls.gov/ooh/ -Not due until the end of the period, Wed. 9/18.

Students will work on their Occupational Outlook assignment due Wed. 9/18 Wednesday- Question of the Day- Should companies monitor employees’ personal social media accounts? Explain Career Profile and have students create the file on their desktop Students will complete their Occupational Outlook assignment. Due at the end of the period. Thursday- Question of the Day- What could be the biggest thing that could prevent you from pursuing your business goals? What can you do to overcome it? We defined "International Career Opportunity" and found one for each of the top three career clusters then added them to our career profile. Friday-Question of the Day- Should employers be allowed to reject all job applicants with criminal records? Occupational Outlook Quiz Welcome to Business I, Introduction to Business! You will learn about your own strengths and challenges and how they can be used to reach success in life! The only homework this week is to complete the Student Questionnaire found on the Home page of our class site, gather all supplies needed for this class by Friday, and read, sign, have your parent/guardian sign, and return the Course Syllabus no later then Friday, September 13, 2013.
