For example, one customer representative is asked by his boss to change the total on an invoice because the boss wanted to give a “favor” to one of his favorite customers who happens to be a young pretty client. Lesson on Two Views of Social Responsibility- The Economic Model and The Socioeconomic Model Students will research both models and become “experts” on one or the other. We will hold a debate on which model a corporation should follow Friday- Question of the Day- What would it take to give up your own time and give it to someone else? Question of the Day- Review Press Enterprise pe.com log-in Read an article in World News and reflect how it could affect business internationally. Lesson on Initiative- Students will discover how important initiative is by listing jobs that require initiative and those that don’t then compare pay and benefits. Activity- Students will go to pe.com or monsterjobs.com and look for jobs that list communication and initiative as needed skills. Initiative Case Study- “The Computer Salesperson” Students will work in groups to determine how important initiative is in career evaluations. **Bus. III on Tuesday will be trained on the ordering process of lunches. They will gain accounts receivable experience and bookkeeping skills while totally Ranger Station Lunch totals every Tuesday. Cont. study of ethics- students will work in groups on “The Crash” case study applying ethics in management decisions. Students will discover their own strengths and weaknesses of their own work ethic and attitudes: Complete Employability Skills Assessment Interpersonal Skills Vocabulary In small groups- they will observe Mrs. Feely in the front office. Writing down her interpersonal skills and work ethic demonstrated. While groups are observing we will play Interpersonal Skills Mime game Friday- Question of the Day- Should companies monitor employees’ personal social media accounts? Are interpersonal skills important? Using students strong interpersonal skills they will find a job opening with those particular ones as a requirement using Press Enterprise or Monsterjobs.com (If you need a pe.com log in inform Welcome to Business III, Ethical Leadership and E-Commerce! Your homework this week is to complete the Student Questionnaire found on the Home page of our class site, gather all supplies needed for this class by Friday, and read, sign, have your parent/guardian sign, and return the Course Syllabus no later then Friday, Sep. 13, 2013.
